Christians at Bethel Covenant Connection lead by the Church lead Pastor, Gerald Rovis Masinde are set to visit Kireka, School of Children with Special Needs to share a meal and take various items to help with their immediate needs.
The school addresses the divergent needs of 6 to 20 year old children with learning difficulties, most especially intellectual and multiple physical disabilities. Kireka Home – as it is commonly referred to – is a government institution that was founded in 1984, and it takes care of children with special needs
“Simple acts of selfless love can open hearts to Jesus, and together we can make a difference,” the Ministry said in a Facebook post while announcing the visit.
“We will serve our community and share the love of God,” they added.
Reports show that this institution is the only school of its kind in Wakiso District. The home has a staff of 12 teachers and 15 support staff (care givers, nurses, etc), and hosts about 72 children.
The children are divided into five groups, from A to E, considering their learning difficulty (severe, moderate and mild).
